Scott Craig
Scott Craig has been playing drums for over 25 years and has been teaching for 20 years.He started playing in his father’s dance band at the age of 13 and did a degree in Light Music at Newcastle College of Arts and Technology, where he obtained a First. Scott has studied jazz, popular and commercial styles, and has arranged music for big band and film.
He has played the North East club circuit, toured Europe in original bands, collaborated on Samba processions, worked on cruises (including as MD) and has recorded extensively.
He gigs regularly and arranges backing tracks for covers and tribute bands using digital/midi equipment, for which he also plays guitar, bass, keyboards and records the vocals.
Scott currently teaches in Exeter, specializing in drum kit independence, sight reading, snare drum technique and encouraging personal interpretation of the instrument for those interested in pursuing a career in the music industry.
